Disk Gauge (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a macOS app, published by Revelar Solutions Private Limited, that measures what is taking up space on your Mac. This policy explains what the app reads, what it keeps, and what it never sends anywhere. The short version: Disk Gauge collects no data. Everything it learns about your disk stays on your Mac.
1. No account, no personal information
The app does not ask you to register or sign in, and it never asks for a name, email address, phone number or any other personal information. We run no server that holds data about you.
2. What the app reads, and where that stays
To measure your disk, the app reads file and folder information — names, locations, sizes and dates — inside your home folder, once you grant it access. To spot support files left behind by apps you have removed, it also reads the names and identifiers of the apps installed on your Mac. It does not read or open the contents of your documents.
All of this is processed on your Mac and held only in memory while the app is running. None of it is uploaded, logged to a server, or shared with anyone, including us.
3. What is stored on your Mac
The app keeps a macOS security-scoped bookmark to the folder you granted, so it does not have to ask again every time, and a few preferences such as window size and position. These stay in the app’s own container on your Mac (~/Library/Containers/in.revelarsolutions.diskgauge) and never leave it. Deleting the app does not always remove that container; you can delete the folder yourself at any time.
4. Removing files
When you choose to remove something, the app moves it to the macOS Trash. It never deletes files outright, and it never selects anything for you. What you remove is not reported anywhere.
5. In-app purchase
Removal is unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase, processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app only receives confirmation from Apple that the purchase exists on your Apple Account, so it can unlock the feature and restore it on your other Macs.
6. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking
The app contains no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and it does not use the advertising identifier. The only network connection it makes is to Apple, to check your purchase.
7. Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
